Stadtverkehr Luebeck GmbH

In 2000 the Stadtverkehr Luebeck GmbH (SL) was formed from the now defunct Stadtwerke Luebeck.
SL employ over 600 people and belong to Stadtwerke Luebeck GmbH, Energie und Wasser Luebeck GmbH and together with TraveKom are one of the biggest employers in Schleswig-Holstein.

Since the 1. January 2003 the  Hamburger Hochbahn, Pinneberger Verkehrsgesellschaft and Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg Holstein have held a stake of 49,9 % of the Stadtverkehr Luebeck GmbH .
 
The Stadtverkehr Luebeck GmbH operate the public transport system in Luebeck and the surrounding areas including the Priwall ferry. The service is spread over 24 routes, of which 17 are operated by the association themselves. Two routes are operated under contract by Dahmetal, five by the subsidiary company Luebeck-Travemuender Verkehrsgesellschaft (LVG). In Travemuende and in the neighbouring towns Timmendorfer Strand and Niendorf are served by LVG, and further routes by their subsidiary company Haerzer.
